Are we CFTC regulated?

Short answer: not yet. Predict is in a pre-launch phase and is not currently registered with the CFTC.

Why this page exists

Many U.S. prediction markets advertise that they're Designated Contract Markets (DCMs) regulated by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission. We're not — and we want to be upfront about it rather than imply otherwise.

At this time Predict does not accept real-money deposits or process real-money withdrawals, and no commodity-derivatives contracts are listed for real settlement. In this mode no DCM or DCO designation is required to operate.

What that does and doesn't mean

  • No real money flows in or out today. Deposits and withdrawals are disabled.
  • Predictions, leaderboards, and tournament prizes settle inside the platform — they are not real-money payouts.
  • Customer funds aren't segregated at FDIC banks — there are no customer funds today.
  • Disputes don't have a CFTC escalation path. They go through our own support team.

When that might change

We may pursue real-money trading in the future, in which case we'll seek the appropriate regulatory licence(s) and update this page. See our regulatory status page for the current state.
